What is Bimatoprost?
Bimatoprost is a prostaglandin analogue. It mimics a naturally-occurring molecule, which regulates the growth of your hair.
When you apply it onto your lash line it soaks into the hair follicle and causes your eyelash to enter its anagen, or growth, phase. The individual hairs grow thicker and longer than normal. The increased thickness often results in a darker appearance to each hair. The FDA trial in America for the approval of Bimatoprost for cosmetic use found that the eyelashes were on average 106% thicker, 25% longer and 18% darker than before.
Most users see results within 4 weeks but the best results take 16 weeks to appear. This is because the growth cycle for all of your eyelashes take 16 weeks on average to go through the growth phase.
The solution has been proven to be effective in clinical trials and have FDA approval for cosmetic use.
Who are Mylash?
Mylash are the experts in eyelash care. Over the last 16 years we have helped thousands of people to grow their eyelashes via consultation and provision of clinically proven growth treatments.
We offer an online service, run by UK-based doctors. That means that we professionally supervise and regulate your treatment, and deliver to your door.
Once you have placed your online order, we’ll send you a link to an online medical questionnaire. Our doctors review each and every questionnaire before approving treatment and will be in contact if required.
Our doctors are only likely to refuse treatment in the event of pre-existing eye conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding. If we have to refuse treatment, we won’t charge for payment.
Bimatoprost is a prescription-only product and are not available at high street retailers like Boots. We warn against unregulated treatments offered without medical advice.
What else do I need to know about buying Bimatoprost in the UK?
Bimatoprost is not an eyelash serum. Eyelash serums are readily available in shops and online, and don’t require doctor approval. They are designed to nourish and condition the hair, but contain no active ingredient to cause growth.
If you stop using Bimatoprost, your lashes will return to their normal size over a period of 16 weeks. There will be no shedding of the lash.
There are suggestions that the follicle size remains larger, which causes the hairs to remain permanently longer and thicker. These claims have not been supported by independent clinical evidence.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an existing eye condition or have had eyelid surgery, please make us aware on your medical assessment form.
